This Privacy Policy explains how the tools available at lans.cloud (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) handle information. The tools are designed to run in your browser and do not require an account. We aim to collect as little data as possible.
Information We Collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect personal information such as your name or email address through the tools themselves. Data you enter into a tool (for example, text to format or a list of names) is processed in your browser and is not sent to or stored on our servers unless a specific tool clearly states otherwise.
Anonymous Usage Statistics
To understand which tools are useful, we keep a simple aggregate page-view counter on our own server: when a page on this site is opened, a counter for that page’s address is increased by one. When you arrive from another website, we also increase a daily counter for that website’s domain name only, together with which page on this site you landed on (for example “12 visits arrived from example.com to our coin-flip page today”), never the full link you came from, and never anything about you. That is the entire record: we do not store your IP address, browser details, cookies, or any identifier with it, and individual visits cannot be distinguished or traced back to you. This first-party counting involves no third-party analytics service. You can also switch it off entirely for your browser on the your data page (“Don’t count my visits”).
Three more counters work exactly the same way. When you follow a link from one of our tools to another page of ours (another tool, one of our collection pages, or our own shop at shop.lans.cloud), we increase a daily counter for that pair of pages and where on the page the link sat, so we can see which tools people actually want and whether a link higher up the page helps them find one. When a block holding one of those links (to another tool, a collection page, or our shop) scrolls into view on your screen, we increase a daily counter for that page and that block: a plain tally of how often each block was actually on screen, with nothing about which links it held or what you did next. It is what tells us whether a link nobody follows was rejected or simply never reached. And when one of our tools is embedded in someone else’s website, the embedded page counts a view together with that website’s domain name only, which is how we know how many sites use our embeds. All three are plain tallies with no identifier attached: we do not store your IP address, cookies, or anything that could link two clicks together or back to you. The “Don’t count my visits” switch on the your data page turns off the link and block counters as well, not only page views.
Voluntary Feedback
Every tool page has an optional feedback form. If you use it, we store only what you type: a thumbs rating, your message, and an email address only if you choose to leave one for a reply. No IP address, browser details, or other identifiers are attached to feedback. Messages are read by the site’s maker to improve the tools and are never published; volunteered email addresses are used solely to respond and are deleted afterwards. Your network address is checked transiently to prevent spam (rate limiting) but is not stored.
Opening that form contacts Cloudflare. The feedback box carries a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check. The script is fetched from challenges.cloudflare.com at the moment you open the box (not on page load, and never if you do not open it), and the check itself runs then, so your IP address is visible to Cloudflare from that point on, under its own privacy policy. Submitting the form sends the result of that check along with your message. Leave the box shut and no request to Cloudflare is made at all. It is the only third-party script the feedback form loads.
Local Storage
Some tools save preferences and results directly in your browser using local storage so your experience persists between visits. Examples include your light/dark theme preference and saved items within a tool (such as favorite workouts). This information stays on your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. You can also download all of it as one file, restore it on another device, or delete it in one click at lans.cloud/my-data.
Cookies and Advertising
The Service does not currently display third-party ads, and sets no advertising cookies of any kind. No advertising script is loaded on these pages. If ads return, this policy is updated in the same release that reintroduces them (so no ad is ever served while this page says otherwise), and where required by law a certified consent message will be shown before any personalized-ad cookies are used.
Your Choices and Consent
Because no advertising or analytics cookies are set, there is no ad-consent choice to manage and no consent message is shown. Everything the tools remember (preferences and saved items) stays on your device, and you can review, export or delete all of it at lans.cloud/my-data or by clearing your browser storage.
Analytics
The Service does not currently use third-party analytics. If this changes, this policy will be updated and any such tracking will be subject to the same consent controls described above.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Because we do not maintain personal accounts or server-side profiles, most of these rights are exercised through your browser controls. You may also contact us using the details below.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
