How to use the spin the wheel picker

Type your options, press Spin — and if you are showing it to a room, put it fullscreen and ad-free.

  1. Type your choices

Put one option per line in the box — names, restaurants, chores, prizes, anything. The wheel redraws as you type and the counter beside the box confirms how many segments you have. You need at least two before the wheel can spin.

  2. Start from a ready-made wheel if it is quicker

Instead of typing, load one of the ready-made wheels and edit it. Once you have a list worth keeping, save it under a name and it will be waiting the next time you open the page.

  3. Decide how repeats should work

Switch on "Remove winner after spin" for anything where everyone gets a turn, so the same name cannot come up twice. Leave it off when every spin should be an independent draw with all the options back in play.

  4. Spin it

Press "Spin the Wheel!" or tap the space bar. The wheel accelerates, slows and lands on one segment at random — the result comes from the browser, not from a preset order, so it is genuinely unbiased.

The colour wheel come to rest after a spin, confetti falling, with the winning choice Salad shown below the Spin the Wheel button
  5. Show it to the room

Use Present Fullscreen to put the wheel up ad-free on a projector or classroom screen, and check the winner history underneath when someone asks who was picked three spins ago.

What is the Spin the Wheel Tool?

The Spin the Wheel tool is a free, interactive decision maker designed to help you randomly select an item from a list. Whether you’re struggling to decide what to eat for dinner, picking a student to answer a question in class, or drawing a winner for a giveaway, our customizable wheel makes the process fun, fair, and visually exciting.

Best of all, our wheel features a dedicated ad-free presentation mode, making it the perfect choice for teachers projecting in classrooms or event hosts looking for a clean, professional display.

How to Use the Random Picker Wheel

Using the wheel is incredibly simple. Just type or paste your list of options into the text box provided—make sure each option is on its own line. The wheel will instantly update to display a colorful slice for every item. Once your options are set, click the SPIN THE WHEEL! button. A physics-based animation will spin the wheel, eventually slowing down to reveal a randomly chosen winner accompanied by a celebration.

If you are presenting to a group, simply click the Present Fullscreen button to launch our immersive, ad-free fullscreen view.

Spin the Wheel Fullscreen (No Ads)

Looking for a spin the wheel fullscreen no ads experience? Our presentation mode provides a clean, large wheel that fills the screen without any Google ads, banners, or distractions. We built this specific feature because we know how frustrating it is to project a webpage in a classroom or during a live stream, only to have distracting ads pop up.

This ad-free fullscreen view is perfect for:

  • Teachers projecting in classrooms or lecture halls
  • Event hosts doing raffle draws on a big screen or TV
  • Live streams, Twitch broadcasts, and Zoom video calls
  • Any situation where you want the wheel front and center

To access fullscreen mode, just click the Present Fullscreen button at the top of the wheel. You will see our supporting ads on the main page (which keeps the tool free for everyone), but once you enter presentation mode, you get a beautiful, clean, ad-free fullscreen experience.

Classroom Games and Activities with the Wheel

Teachers get more out of a spinner than anyone, because a wheel turns routine choices into a moment the whole class watches. Load it with review questions and spin between topics for an instant quiz-show format. Fill it with sentence starters or vocabulary words for writing warm-ups. Put brain-break activities on the slices — stretch, riddle, 20 jumping jacks — and let the wheel decide the transition. For older students, load debate topics or presentation orders; nobody argues with the wheel.

Two settings make classroom use smooth: turn on Remove winner after spin so every topic or student comes up exactly once, and keep your list saved between lessons — it stays in your browser automatically. When the projector goes on, one click into the ad-free fullscreen mode puts a big, clean wheel in front of the class and nothing else.

Popular Use Cases

Our users love using the decision wheel for a wide variety of scenarios:

  • Teachers and Educators: Picking students for presentations or randomizing quiz topics.
  • Event Organizers: Drawing random winners for door prizes or online giveaways.
  • Friends and Families: Deciding on a restaurant, a movie to watch, or whose turn it is to do the chores.
  • Gamers: Randomizing challenges, character selection, or drop locations in Battle Royale games.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the spin the wheel result truly random?

Yes. The winning option is chosen by an unbiased random number generator the moment you click Spin, before the animation even starts. Every option on the wheel has exactly the same chance of winning on every spin.

How do I use the wheel fullscreen without ads?

Click the Present Fullscreen button next to the spin button. The wheel switches to a dedicated presentation mode with no ads, banners, or site chrome — ideal for projectors, interactive whiteboards, and screen sharing. Press Exit Presentation (or Esc) to return.

How many options can I add to the wheel?

You can paste as many entries as you like, one per line. For readability the wheel displays the first 50 entries, and only those 50 can win — the option counter tells you when you are over the limit.

Can the wheel remove a winner automatically after each spin?

Yes. Turn on "Remove winner after spin" and each winner is taken off the wheel automatically — perfect for raffles, elimination games, or working through a task list in random order.

Does the wheel save my entries?

Your current options are saved in your own browser (localStorage) so they are still there when you come back — and you can keep up to 20 NAMED wheels: type a name like “Class 6B”, hit Save, and load it with one tap any morning. Ready-made presets (dinner ideas, numbers 1–10, chores, exercise breaks) fill the wheel instantly. Nothing is uploaded to a server — your lists never leave your device.

Can I switch between multiple wheels (like different classes)?

Yes — that is what saved wheels are for. Save each class list, party game, or dinner rotation under its own name, and the chips above the option box swap the whole wheel in one tap. Deleting a saved wheel is the little × on its chip.

Can I turn off the winner popup after each spin?

Yes. Switch off "Show winner popup" in the Wheel Options card and the big "We have a winner!" dialog stops appearing — the winner shows up in a small bar under the wheel instead, with a Copy button beside it, so you can go straight into the next spin without dismissing anything. The confetti still fires either way, and the choice is remembered in your browser. Set it before you click Present Fullscreen, though: the options card is hidden while you are presenting, so the toggle is out of reach from the projector view.
